For more experienced rafters, the Naranjo River runs from April to December and is a consistently adrenaline-pumping Class III and IV wild ride.
April - December
The wild and ever-changing Naranjo River White Water Rafting challenge is recommended for physically fit adventure seekers and experienced rafters who are familiar with Class III and IV rapids.
On this high-octane, half-day adventure, the trip begins when the Naranjo River drops steeply from the Costa Rican mountains and charges though pristine jungle gorges, then winds around rocky curves to take you on a wild, adventurous ride back to sea level waters. While your internationally-trained, bilingual guides and safety kayakers work with you to navigate this exciting river, you’ll pass by (rapidly) stunning farmland, working cattle ranches, and beautiful African Palm Plantations.

Paddle comfortably as a family, a couple, or an intimate group either under the shade of the mangroves during the day -- or have a completely unique, safe yet unforgettable experience at night. If you want more “perks” on your kayak adventure, try our Sea Kayaking trip that stops at stunning Biezans Bay for snorkeling and includes unbelievable nature spottings near Manuel Antonio’s world-class beaches.
One of our most popular tours is almost one of Iguana Tours’ most treasured secrets. If you think the Damas Island Estuary and Mangrove Boat Tour is sedentary, then let our “interactive” tropical rainforest and delicate mangrove ecosystem knock you out of your seat in your boat – literally.
Enjoy learning about Costa Rica’s exotic plants and rare wildlife as you ride through the tropical jungle and private ecological reserve at Tocori, just minutes away from Manuel Antonio.
Quepos, Costa Rica and it’s offshore fishing grounds are world famous for the numerous records (fly and conventional tackle) that have been set and the large numbers of fish it can produce during the peak seasons.
Did we mention that
Iguana Tours invites all of our friends and visitors to experience an outstanding naturalist tour with amazing views of the Manuel Antonio National Park on our Catamaran Cruise. We offer the convenience of having both morning and afternoon tours to maximize your time.
Our more family-friendly Savegre River provides Class II, III and some rare IV rapids that are more than manageable. And of course you can expect that our internationally trained, bilingual guides and safety kayakers will expertly coach you through navigating either river.
The pace of any of Iguana Tours’ kayaking adventures is determined by your group’s abilities and interests, and the abundance of wildlife you all want to stop and observe (or learn about) – all in its natural and breathtaking habitat. All our kayaking tours come with round-trip transportation, highly educated bilingual guides and naturalists, all equipment, snacks, a hearty Tico style meal, and local refreshments.

The inshore waters of the Central Pacific coast are some of the most abundant sport fisheries in the world. Literally thousands of Roosterfish populate the area and are caught year around. There can be so much action with Gallos (Roosters) that often clients prefer to target other species after hours of battling these hard fighting “brawlers”.
What can we say about someone experiencing Costa Rica’s number one visitors’ spot for the first time with THE Manuel Antonio specialist – our Manuel Antonio National Park. It’s just like experiencing Costa Rica for the first time -- absolutely unforgettable.
Once you’ve satiated yourself with Manuel Antonio National Park and its beaches, try something new located only about 1 hour away – Carara National Park. Although located very close to Manuel Antonio and near the Jaco area, this hiking tour and natural sanctuary adventure in a bio-diverse reserve is dramatically different in terms of wildlife and plant species than our “other” national park in Manuel Antonio.
