Iguana Tours News
Thanks for choosing
Iguana Tours --
the Manuel Antonio
specialist.
When visiting Costa Rica,
especially for the first time, it helps to learn a few things from
the locals before you arrive. Our country, and especially the
area around Manuel Antonio, is a casual one, where beach wear and
color-coordinated flip flops are the attire for almost any
establishment or occasion.
Thus, the News is just as casual,
where if you need to know anything, just ask a local. We are a
very friendly community out here in Manuel Antonio / Quepos, and
we want you to feel right at home.
Here are a few items of
importance that are going on now that you should be aware of
before you visit, to ensure you have a wonderfully exotic and
completely unforgettable experience. And quite possibly, by the
end of your trip, you just might discover what the true meaning of
what the locals say, “Pura Vida”.
Please let us know if you have any
further questions or comments, and we at Iguana Tours – the Manuel
Antonio specialist -- will take care of everything.
Kids Saving the Rainforest
In Manuel Antonio, there are only
about 1000 mono titi’s or squirrel monkeys left in the world. The
not-for-profit organization, Kids Saving the Rainforest, was
started by a young lady and Colegio student, Janine, at the Mono
Azul Hotel. She hosts weekly camps and projects for kids to learn
more about recycling, cleaning up the community, how to preserve
our tropical rain forest natural resources, and most importantly,
how to help save our endangered tropical rain forest species like
the Mono Titi.
Join Janine and the other kids
any time, any day, or any season, with just yourself, with your
kids, or with your organization – even in the US. Janine works
with schools and organizations all over the world to help educate
others about Costa Rica’s natural assets. So if you want to help,
or want to start a fund raising project with your school or
organization – any where in the world – contact Janine, and she
will get you started. Even $20 buys a tree in your honor to be
planted in the rain forest on protected land, and $100 buys a
simple monkey brigde high accross the Manuel Antonio Road so that
the little mono titi’s can cross the busy street on a protected
cable instead of using dangerous power lines.
Janine’s email address is
Janine@KidsSavingTheRainforest.org, and you can contact the
organization as well at
www.KidsSavingTheRainforest.org. Or better yet, come and
volunteer or bring your kids to camp at the Mono Azul and help
them preserve our national jewel, our Costa Rican tropical
rainforest.
Let us show you our country --
Just let us know when.
